DeutschField Trips
Field trips will be arranged after the conference on 19th & 20th September 2011. Participants who have signed up for the field trips have to register for one field trip on Monday and one trip on Tuesday. Read more about the trips below and send info. about your participation to post@geanor.no before the 1st of September. You will automatically be placed in groups if you don`t respond
Monday 19th september
M1 (09.00 - 17.00): Trip to Ulefoss (carbonatic volcanoe, Fen-Formation) and The Telemark Canal by canal-boat.
An overview of the program:
9.00: Departure from hotel in Langesund by bus to Skien
10.00-12.00: By boat at Norsjø and Telemark Canal, including hot lunch made from local foods
12.00-16.30: By foot and by bus around at Ulefoss, including refreshments
16.30: Departure for Langesund
17.30: Back at hotel
M2 (09.00 - 17.00): Coastal trip to Kragerø and by boat to the island Jomfruland (ice age).
An overview of the program:
9.00: Departure from hotel in Langesund by bus to Kragerø
10.00-11.00: By boat to Jomfruland
11.00-1200: Lunch at local cafè at Jomfruland
12.00-13.30: Around at Jomfruland, walk by foot around the island, exhibition and guided tour
13.30-14.30: Boat back to Kragerø
14.30-16.00: Visit Kragerø City Center, apatite mine and the view point “Steinmann”
16.00: Departure for Langesund
17.00: Back at hotel
Tuesday, 20th September
T1 (09.00 - 17.00): Trip to Rognstranda and Grenland (Precambrian and Cambro-Silurian succession), by bus. Cultural aspects in Skien and Porsgrunn (Ibsen`s house and iron mining, Iron-age house and Århus farm), local food.
An overview of the program:
9.00: Departure from hotel in Langesund by bus
9.30: Stop at Rognstranda, the oldest bedrocks in GNG
10.30: Bus to Skien
11.00-12.30: Århus Farm, Iron house and lunch based on local food
12.30-14.30: Departure for a roundtrip in Skien; Iron Mine area, Ibsen Venstøp (home of Ibsen) and short walk in old town of Skien
14.30: Bus to Porsgrunn and cultural stop in Brevik, refreshments
16.30: Departure for hotel
17.00: Back at hotell in Langesund
T2 (09.00 - 17.00): Trip to Mølen, Lardal & Siljan (Ice age, Ra Moraine), by bus. Cultural aspects along the trip, local food.

9.00: Departure from hotel in Langesund by bus,including short stop at Larvikite stone industry
10.30-13.00: Mølen and Helgeroa, lunchbag
13.00-14.00. Bus to the Lågen Valley and Kjærra ( Kjærra Waterfall Park, “High and Low”),
14.00-15.00: Kjærra Waterfall Park, High and low, Refreshments
15.00: Departure for Siljan
15.30: Auen Herbal Farm, refreshments
16.30: Departure for hotel
17.30: Back at hotel
